Born to sea-going parents, Bubba was lost overboard at the age of two during a violent storm. After many hours, he was presumed drowned, and the search was called off. Rescued from certain death by a school of friendly herring, Bubba was loved and raised as one of their own. The time spent with his adoptive family was incredibly rich and fulfilling, but there finally came a time when Bubba grew too large to slip through the various fishing nets that swept through the area where the school lived. Taking with him his prized sand worm collection, Bubba bid a tearful goodby to his loving family and made for the shore. Pulling himself up on a restricted jetty, he was immediately captured and placed into custody by the local authorities. Given the choice of either signing up for Space duty, or rotting away forever in the regional prison, Bubba chose the former and became a member of the crew of the flagship Kotuku. And the adventure continues...
